Annette, LVT, CVPM, CCRP
Hospital Administrator, LVT, CVPM, CCRP
Annette has been working in veterinary practices since she was 14 years old. She joined the Union Lake Veterinary Team in 1995. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and became Michigan’s first Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2001. Her career path has taken her on many interesting journeys, including the Caribbean, Florida and Michigan. She has worked in specialty practices as a critical care nurse, internal medicine and surgical nurse as well as in general medicine and as a practice manager.
Annette is continually striving to offer new and interesting services to our clients. She enjoys being a mentor to fellow veterinary owners and managers through consulting and practice management speaking engagements. She is also a certified DiSC trainer and gets great satisfaction out of helping with team-building, conflict resolution and coaching of veterinary team members.
Annette is passionate about providing exceptional care to companion animals and is proud to lead this team! In her spare time she enjoys yoga, traveling, golfing, camping, hiking, reading, coaching and mentoring.


Barb, LVT
Barb graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 1997. She started working at ULVH in 1999. Her favorite parts of her career include surgery, anesthesia, and emergency medicine. Outside of work, Barb enjoys spending time hiking, boating, and spending time with her husband and two children. She rescued both her dog and cat that complete their family.


Val, LVT
Val joined Union Lake Vet Hospital in March of 2001 while finishing her internship. She graduated from Macomb Community College in 2001 with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology. Val also has a Bachelor in Science from CMU and OCC. She has 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 12 fish. Val is known as the cat whisperer for all the hard to handle cats that come into our clinic. She enjoys dentistries, nursing care, anesthesia. She is very thankful to work with animals on a daily basis.


Jennifer, LVT
Jennifer came to Union Lake for an internship while completing her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology at Baker College of Flint and joined our team as a technician in 2012. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing-joining us with 20 years of nursing experience. Her special interests include critical care, nursing and anesthesia. She is the proud “mom” of three rescued dogs.


Lindsey, LVT
Lindsey, her husband Phil, and their son Brantley share their home with an Akita (Koi) and Tuxedo cat (Lyric).
Her interests include Radiology, Behavior, Training, Reproduction, Neonate care, and Clinical Pathology.


Jessie, LVT
Jessie graduated from Macomb Community College in 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science in the Veterinary Technician program. She joined Union Lake Veterinary Hospital in 2016 and has a special interest in dentistry and client education.
She enjoys quality time outside of work with her husband and daughter. She also shares her house with a black Labrador (Cali Girl), a Bloodhound (Segura), and two tuxedo cats (Mr. Buttons & Penelope Garcia).


Felicia, LVT
Felicia graduated from Macomb Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree and became a licensed veterinary technician in 2010. She found her niche in providing compassionate patient care and educating clientele within private practice. With a profound interest in behavior, she earned certification as a professional dog trainer through the Karen Pryor Academy in 2014 and has offered private counseling for dog and cat guardians. Felicia joined the Union Lake Veterinary Hospital team in 2020 to utilize, challenge, and broaden her knowledge base and technical abilities. As a credentialed trainer, bull-breed advocate, and Fear-Free certified technician, she is committed to animal welfare and enriching the human-animal bond. Felicia is a self-proclaimed nerd, fitness enthusiast, novice photographer and enjoys spending time with her own critters, warm and cold-blooded alike.


Kristen, LVT, KPA CTP, VTS

Megan (LVT, CCRVN)
Licensed Veterinary Technician and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Nurse
She enjoyed working in the hospital as a technician but found a true sense of fulfillment working at the rehabilitation center and made the decision to devote her career to physical rehabilitation. She is honored and proud to have the opportunity to better the quality of life of her patients in any way she can. Megan has a special interest in soft tissue techniques and massage.
In her free time Megan enjoys hiking, backpacking, gardening, arts+crafts, birdwatching, reading and spending time with her fiancé Jake and their band of misfits. She shares her home with her mischievous husky mix Beetle, Persian cat Phoebe, Macaw Coco, Bearded dragon Stew, African clawed frog Jeremy, Fernando the catfish and his fishy friends.

Natalie, LVT
Natalie graduated from Macomb Community College with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and an associate degree in General Studies in 2011. Her professional special interests include dentistry, client education, anesthesia, pocket pet care, and exotic animal care. She is bilingual in American Sign Language as her older sister is Deaf, and it was Natalie’s first language. She has a Boston terrier mix named Lily, a Great Dane mix tri pod named Daisy, and a 40+ (estimate) year old reeves turtle named Speedy! Speedy has been her pet since she was 9 years old. In her free time, she enjoys going up north and spending time with her friends, family, pets, her husband Jamie, and son Jesse. She also enjoys aquarium-keeping fancy goldfish.

Carl
Carl began work as a kennel attendant at Union Lake in 2011. From a young age, he’s always had a love for caring and working with animals. His special interests include radiology, critical care, and exotics. In his free time, he enjoys listening to good music, playing board games, and watching a good movie.

Samantha
Samantha joined the ULVH team in 2015 as a kennel assistant, then trained as a rehab assistant before transitioning to the vet hospital as a veterinary assistant, working alongside the doctors. She graduated from the University of Michigan Dearborn with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology in 2020. She plans on applying to Veterinary Technician programs after her wedding in the fall of 2025. Her favorite part of the job is educating and informing clients to provide them with all the options and resources they need to make informed decisions about their pets’ care. She prides herself on her positivity in the workplace, team player attitude, and is not afraid to incorporate humor into her workday. When she is not at work, you will find her running around town with her soon-to-be husband and stepson, attending Little League games and practices, and spending time outdoors. She is also a sucker for lounging around the house with a book, Netflix, and her adorable wobbly Cerebellar Hypoplasia cat, Cat’en Jack Sparrow.

Jessica
Outside of work, she’s an active advocate for local trap and release (TNR) efforts and spends her days off kayaking and hiking with her husband Richard and three children — Chloe, Haley, and Connor. At home, Jessica’s animal family includes her dog Nibbler, three cats—Hims, Dingus, and Walter—and a rotating crew of foster kittens and pocket pets.


Kirsten, LVT

Abbey, LVT
Abbey began her career as a veterinary assistant in 2021, prior to earning her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Baker College of Owosso. She began her career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2023. She has a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and cytology, but is especially passionate about patient care. Outside of work, Abbey enjoys spending quality time with her two dogs, Poppi and Auggie, and cherishes time with her family.

Carly, LVT

Emily
Emily joined the ULVH team in the fall of 2018. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program. From a young age, she has always been passionate about helping animals and giving them the best possible care and love. She takes a special interest in Behavior and Urgent Care. Emily loves a challenge and would like to continue learning as much as possible from our wonderful doctors. She has a Chocolate Lab, Kimber, and 2 black cats, Smith and Wesson. She hopes to one day have many Dachshunds.
